It was the event of the autumn, not to be missed, just before the start of the grape harvest! The 37th edition of the Médoc Marathon brought together 8,500 enthusiastic runners who set off from the quays of Pauillac at 9.30. on Saturday 2nd September.
The first runners in the world’s most extravagant and convivial race stopped off at Le Crock at around 11.00, before the grand parade of the best costumes on the theme of gastronomy took place between 12.00 and 14.3p.
To the rhythm of the live band “No-Think”, each runner and taster was welcomed and invited to taste a wine from the estate. No fewer than 225 bottles of Château La Croix St-Estèphe 2011 were opened and enjoyed by the runners (and our brave volunteers!) for its fruitiness and smooth tannins. The perfect wine for a short break on the 28th km of this route through the Médoc.
A special thanks to our 30 volunteers and members of the Le Crock team for their enthusiasm. Thanks to Anne and Sara, the owners, for their warm welcome. And thanks to the generous Saint-Estèphe sunshine, which defied all the weather forecasts 😉🌞.
See you next year!
