The talents of tomorrow under the stars of Le Crock!
The magic of Le Crock works in all circumstances. On Thursday 27th June, the château welcomed the participants of the 22nd Left Bank Bordeaux Cup. Organised by the ‘Commanderie du Bontemps’, this student wine competition brings together no less than 60 wine clubs from international universities and business schools. The competition includes an exclusive wine tour of the vineyards before the grand finale. It’s an opportunity for the young prodigies to experience an unforgettable immersion in the world of the Bordeaux Left Bank Grands Crus.
This year, after a tour & tasting of Léoville Poyferré, they all gathered at Château Le Crock for a festive evening on the eve of the final. An aperitif under the arches of the garden awaited them before dinner under the stars. Our very special guests were able to appreciate the precision and finesse of our wines, which embody the richness of our Saint-Estèphe terroir. Château La Croix Saint-Estèphe 2018 and Château Le Crock 2017 were the other stars of the evening.
A real springboard for young talent, the Left Bank Bordeaux Cup has over the years become an event that undeniably contributes to the influence of the great wines of the Left Bank of Bordeaux. It offers a unique opportunity for students from different cultures to come together around the same passion: wine.
Well done to the University of Cambridge team, who were crowned champions at the Château Duhart-Milon final, beating ESSEC Business School and Wharton School. We hope the Crock’s lucky star guided them to victory!
