Not one, but three of our wines have been named among the “Best Wines of Bordeaux”. This distinction is found in Le guide des meilleurs vins de France 2025, the essential annual special edition published by the Revue du Vin de France.
The Grand Vin de Léoville Poyferré is particularly praised for its “more opulent style than its neighbour Barton and creamier than Las Cases”, while showing “a more “modern” and “exuberant” side”. The article pays tribute to the terroir of Léoville Poyferré, which gives the wine “its depth of colour, its full, nervous flesh, its broad, spicy bouquet, as well as its potential for longevity”, with a 2021 vintage “marked by greater fruit ripeness than its neighbours”.
Moulin Riche is also in the spotlight. From a single vineyard in the north-west of the Saint-Julien appellation, it “cultivates a rich and rather seductive side”, “in the vein of its big brother”. The 2012 vintage is a real eye-catcher, with “a rather generous style, with good fruit ripeness, a palate that’s still a little tight and a chic woodiness. A seductive whole, in a flamboyant style that should evolve well.
Finally, we move on to Saint-Estèphe to discover that Château Le Crock 2021 is a ‘charming wine with a touch of wood that enhances the finish. The wine is silky and well-rounded and should be ready to drink in two to three years’ time. The article goes on to highlight the ‘fine consistency’ of recent vintages, ‘in a rich and seductive style, but which will age very well’.
From Saint-Julien to Saint-Estèphe, many thanks for this wonderful spotlight!
