Year after year, each vintage is different. However, the 2019 vintage forms part of an exceptional solar trilogy: 2018-2019-2020. Infact, 2019 was registered as one of the hottest years of the decade. After a mild, dry winter, spring was cool and damp.
Lovely weather returned with a progressive rise in temperatures, continuing the growingseason on a promising note. The month of September was very sunny, encouraging optimal ripeness for each plot of vines.
These ideal conditions allowed us to begin the harvest serenely, working with great precision. 2019 turns out to be the perfect meeting point between elegance and gourmandise.

JebDunnuck.comJeb Dunnuck : 92 "Coming from the incredible team at Château Léoville Poyferré, the 2019 Château Le Crock has a great nose of darker plums, currants, cedary spice, and tobacco. This carries to a medium to full-bodied, reasonably structured, impeccably balanced Saint- Estèphe with solid mid-palate depth, beautiful tannins, and outstanding length. The purity, balance, and length are all spot on, and it's going to have 15 to 20 years of longevity, if not more."

Vinous Media Antonio Galloni : 92 "The 2019 Le Crock is a powerful, burly Saint-Estèphe. A rush of black cherry, scorched earth, licorice, tobacco and menthol makes a strong opening statement. Rich, virile and packed, the 2019 is big, hearty wine that shows the savory personality of Saint-Estèphe. The tannins are a bit coarse, but then again, that is to be expected. There is certainly a lot of wine here."
