Château Le Crock 2017

In 2017, once again, the Gironde estuary fully played its role as thermal regulator and thus protected our vineyards. Indeed, in April, thanks to its ideal geographical location, the terroir of Saint-Estèphe was spared from the frost that has so harshly marked the spirits of French winemakers. At Chateau Le Crock, we will remember the precocity of this vintage following on from the beautiful weather conditions in May and June.

The lack of rainfall was made up during the summer, offering excellent maturity of the grapes in the end ! The fatality of the number 7 is not verified in 2017…

Press

Vinous Media Antonio Galloni : 89 "The 2017 Le Crock is plump and juicy, but very much in the mid-weight style that is typical of so many northern Médoc wines in 2017. Sweet red cherry, red plum, blood orange and floral overtones give the wine its bright, lifted personality." 11.03.2020
Wine Spectator James Molesworth : 89 "Features a good beam of dark cherry and plum fruit, laced liberally with mocha-accented toast. This manages to pull up tobacco and iron notes typical of the appellation in the end." 31.03.2020
The Wine Doctor Chris Kissack : 90 "An estate run very successfully by the Cuvelier family, so it is no surprise that this is a success. It starts off with a reserved, gently polished and fragrant nose of blackcurrant fruits with a gentle vanilla dusting. The palate feels more convincing than most wines at this level in this vintage, with a broad sense of substance, wrapped around a ripe and elegantly integrated structure. Medium-bodied, charming, with a little grip in the finish and length, this will be ready for drinking in just a few years, but there will at least be some real pleasure here." 30.10.2019
