Château Le Crock 2022

Resilience, the ability to regain one’s equilibrium after an exceptional event, is best illustrated by our vines. As the region endured a never-ending summer, the second hottest on record, they not only adapted, they did their best in the face of adversity to deliver a vintage of astonishing balance.

Signs of an early, sunny vintage began to emerge in winter, and the drought that continued throughout the summer ruled out any prospect of a bountiful harvest.

Our team’s expertise in viticulture was crucial in helping the vines through this new era.

The triumph of the vines is such that all the plots in the vineyard are destined for the Grand Vin!

matthewjukes.com Matthew Jukes : 17,5+ "This is an amazing Le Crock, and it appears to be situated on the perfect plot of land to maximise the concentration, ripeness and sunshine of this vintage while retaining enough minerality and moisture, as well as cool breezes, to stay in ideal balance. Deep purple in colour, thrillingly expressive and lifted on the palate, this is a vibrant, open and energetic wine with brilliant spiciness and croquante tannins such that the whole experience lasts for minutes on the finish. This is a stunning Le Crock, and while it tastes delicious already, it will age well, too." 15.05.2023
Vinous Media Neal Martin "This is well-defined and focused on the nose. Understated at first, opening with blackberry, briar and pencil shavings aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy black fruit, black pepper and graphite, taut and linear toward its almost Pauillac-like, certainly tannic finish." 24.05.2023
JebDunnuck.com Jeb Dunnuck : 93-95 "The 2022 Château Le Crock is absolutely brilliant and shows how strong the vintage is in the northern part of the Médoc. Pure black and blue fruits, graphite, lead pencil, and fresh earth all define the aromatics, and it's full-bodied, with a juicy spine of acidity and a great finish." 11.05.2023
