Every vintage tells its own story. Every gesture shapes its personality. Faced with exceptional weather conditions, the team at Château Le Crock once again pulled out all the stops to produce a vintage that is not only juicy and crisp, but also embodies the riches of the Saint-Estèphe terroir.
The responsiveness of the vineyard teams was paramount throughout the spring. Growth of the vines was so rapid that the lifting of the shoots had to begin before the end of desuckering, an unprecedented feat for the estate!
This is the third year in a row that the vineyard has successfully made the transition towards organic farming, which strengthens our convictions and our commitment.
“Our role is not to tame the vines, but to accompany them in the most natural way possible,” says Jonathan Servant (Vineyard Manager), for whom the certification planned for 2025 is not an end in itself, but a path of constant in-depth reflection.
Harvesting began on the 12th of September in glorious sunshine. In these ideal conditions, our team reaped the fruits of the year’s work, with a generous yield and impeccable quality.
On the nose, the wine’s bright but subtle fruity aromas are a prelude to a palate where freshness and maturity coexist in perfect harmony.

The Wine Doctor Chris Kissack : 90-92"The nose here offers up sweet dark berries, wrapped in ribbons of dark chocolate and toast, and on a second sample also a scented, cedary perfume. This continues on the palate in a convincing style, with sinewy dark fruits, currants and damsons, intertwined with toast and olives, with a juicy but coherent substance, and a fine grip of powdery and nicely knit tannins. This holds together really well, with a dry but coherent substance built from a body of rich, firm, tightly knit tannins, before it finishes with a flourish of savoury fruit but also firm tannin. A good result." 30.04.2024
Vinous Media Antonio Galloni : 90-92"The 2023 Le Crock is a very pretty and expressive Saint-Estèphe. Dried herbs, licorice, tobacco, cedar and scorched earth lend tons of aromatic nuance to play off the wine's mid-weight personality. Understated and classy, the 2023 is quite expressive in this tasting. There's also a compelling new sense of freshness and nuance here. Bright saline notes linger on the precise finish." 01.05.2024
DecanterGeorgina Hindle : 92"Aromatic and floral with some milk chocolate and red cherries. Sleek and clean, lovely purity and direction from start to finish. Crunchy and really charming, not so austere or too acidic, not layered either but feels like they struck a nice balance and got some easy charm out of this. Hints of liquorice, graphite and cedar give the spice at the end as well as some tension throughout." 16.05.2024
